While Midnight Voices was a a bit predictable and Saul did reveal the crux of the plot in the middle of the book (as several other reviews have noted), I found the last third of the book exciting because I had become so emotionally invested in Caroline, Ryan, and Laurie that I simply HAD to find out how they were going to get out of this mess/5.
Midnight in Chernobyl is the book to listen to. I have been interested in the Chernobyl incident since it first occurred. My interest came from living less than 15 miles SW of the Three Mile Island Nuclear Power Plant at the time of that accident. Chernobyl was so much more than what was reported at the time because of the USSR secrecy. I'm alittle addicted:) Midnight Voices is about the 5th book I've read and it ties Perfect Nightmare for being my favorite. The reason I loved these two stories is that basically they are the true meaning of "thrillers" they raised my heartbeat at times (well, MANY times)and had me glued to the pages. If a book can do that, it's good, very good.5/5(2).

It was Voices after Midnight book well detailed, I could picture everything in my mind, it was almost like I was there. I thought it was going to be stupid, but after I finished it I was astonished. Richard Peck is an Awsome writer. I have enjoyed MANY of his other books/5(7).
Why is Chad so uneasy when his California family rents a town house in New York City. Once there he hears voices--late at night, after midnight in this strange house that's at least one hundred years old.
Then he finds that his younger brother, Luke, hears them, too, and even their older sister Heidi's afraid to stay in the house alone. Chad—a frank, ingenuous year-old Californian—tells what happens when his family rents an old New York town house on East 73rd for two weeks one summer: farewell to beaches and barbeques, hello Central Park and—after slipping into several other times—the Blizzard of Chad's little brother Luke has always been able to see the Indians walking through the utility room at home, or.

Jan 01, · Continuing with John Saul I read Midnight Voices and was absolutely flabbergasted how good this novel is. After a slow start on the murder of a beloved husband and an eerie dream sequence the horror takes off into a spellbinding story with great reference to Rosmary's Baby and a bit of Ken Eulo's Brownstone series/5.
